IMO, it's not implausible that Lucas hasn't heard about the rape. The subject hasn't been openly discussed (or even mentioned) by the Bradys and Hortons since 91. Lucas arrived in Salem in 93. It's also not the sort of info I could see Jennifer volunteering to him.
Quite frankly, I'm shocked that it was mentioned at all
I agree with Ponz. By the time Lucas came to town, Matt's Jack was gone or almost gone. Plus, at that time, Lucas didn't know that Jennifer was his
sister yet. By the time (Faux)Jack reappeared, Jennifer was set to marry Peter Blake.
While in real life, it may be something that would no doubt get mentioned, I can buy that it didn't on the soap. Even when everyone threw what Jack did in
his face, it was usually referred to as "the thing he did to Kayla." But, as could probably only happen in soaps, they got past it to the point that
Jack was best man at her wedding.
I could understand why people
would take their cues from her and move on, without dwelling on it. Since most had moderately embraced Jack as part of Jennifer's life, it was probably
treated as that dirty little secret that people who were around at the time knew about but didn't necessarily talk about; especially since Kayla lived in
CA. It's a complicated and messy thing to try and explain to outsiders.
