Kayla mentions the rape on tomorrow's show!

Michelle's not the only one I wanted that too...Abby finding out. Michelle is so right about why waste such a bombshell on Lucas when it wouldn't even hold a candle to the drama of Abigail finding out and what's the point in dropping this bombshell if Jack's not even in town to have it affect him, his children/family, and life. Totally pointless now since Jack, Jennifer, Abigail and J.J. are long gone overseas in London. What would be the point??? This is why I have a feeling a name won't be mentioned at all (but I could be wrong and Sheffner could surprise me but I truly doubt it). But, nevertheless thanks for the informo/the 411 Steph. I think the fact that Abby did not find out off say some nasty school friend or some such person was possibly a good story oppurtunity wasted. As Jack always used to say there is always someone to remind you of what you have done wrong!!! Great story telling!! So true Roz and Chris. I totally agree with the both of you as well as Michelle, IrlandesaK, Ponz, Margi/meshakespeare, and Eileen and what they wrote in all their posts in this thread. I would swear that during (the very early stages of) Round 1 of Sami/Lucas/Austin/Carrie that I remember a scene between Caroline and Lucas. She was telling him that her daughter (Kayla) was once in a "triangle" with two brothers and that it ended badly. I'm not sure if the rape was actually mentioned. Though I was new to Days and had no idea about anything that had happened between Steve/Kayla & Jack so I could have imagined this whole scene Karen, you didn't imagine this whole scene because I think I remember seeing a scene like this as well or unless we both imagined this whole scene. Not only do you sometimes read my minds/thoughts now you are invading my imaginations as well...please, leave my imaginations, thoughts, mind, and feelings alone...LOL...I am only kidding, just kidding. You can invade my thoughts, feelings, imaginations and mind anytime you like...LOL Great memory Karen. It definitely was but, and please correct me if I'm wrong, didn't she find out because Blair was accusing Todd of raping her? Todd as a rapist became headline news which brought up Todd's past. But, one would think it might have come up, in family discussion. Especially since Jennifer was raped by Lawrence, it would be hard not to mention that her husband raped Kayla. The whole trial took place two years before Lucas came to town. Lawrence left the same year Lucas came to town and before Lucas knew who his sister was. I don't see Jennifer's rape as being the topic of polite dinner conversation. Besides, how close were Lucas and Jennifer? I didn't watch the show much after Matt was fired but Lucas seemed more involved with Sami's schemes and getting Carrie than integrating with the Hortons. You can google everyone. If Abby found out, that's how I'd see it happening but she might have to search quite a while to find the rape information even if she's specifically looking for it. For one, the trial happened during the pre-internet days so most of the stories about it wouldn't be publically accessible online. She might find something in a database provided by the library but most likely she'd have to search old print copies of papers. Another thing is that he pled to a lesser charge of assault before a full blown trial actually took place because a conviction was uncertain. I also wonder if Kayla's name would even be on any newspaper articles due to victim's laws protecting their identities. That doesn't mean that information wouldn't be online, it'd just depend on how prominent Jack is and how often his past is of interest to internet users that they'd have a reason to put it out there. Basically, I find it plausible either way. And I feel somewhat pathetic because I miss Jack so much that even a small little line that doesn't even have his name makes me excited.

Lucas finding out it was Jack would have been a wasted bombshell on Lucas.

I would love to have Abby find out! I agree..that would be amazing. I think I would want Missy on the show..to help Abby somehow deal with it. I think she would have a hard time with it, considering she's such a daddy's girl, it would have been great material for all actors involved.

I thought it was an appropriately subtle nod to history but it was more about Lucas than it was about Kayla. Lucas was frustrated with how he believed Sami wanted to make peace with EJ. He went outside and ran into Kayla outside of the Brady Pub. He discussed the problems he was having and then asked Kayla what he felt would be a hypothetical question, "If EJ hurt you like that, could you forgive him?" cut to commercial The question was repeated and she told them that she had been in that situation. Lucas looked like he felt bad that his hypothetical may have touched on something painful for Kayla. She said that she had been hurt but, with time, she had managed to forgive the guy. They never mentioned who it was. She then focused the conversation back to what Lucas must be going through by mentioning that forgiving a person for what they do to you is one thing but it's harder when they hurt someone you love. (She brought up EJ's Steve torture.) They then had a nice conversation about how it wouldn't matter if the babies weren't biologically his. That doesn't matter to babies. Of course they didn't mention it was Jack, but still... But yeah, very odd Lucas knew nothing about it, but if the whole thing has been hushed up around the newcomers (maybe on Jennifer's secret say-so?) that could be an interesting story... if Jack ever gets his butt back to Salem!!
